Vandoren CM4028 Series 13 5RVL w/ Proflile 88 Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece

Vandoren CM4028 5RV Lyre 13 Series Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece with Profile 88 Beak

The Vandoren 5RV Lyre is a longtime favorite of serious clarinetists, and this 13 Series version is made specifically for players in North America. Vandoren designed the 13 Series for A=440 pitch, the tuning standard used by most American bands and orchestras, so it helps you play in tune more easily with your ensemble. Compared to the classic 5RV, the 5RV Lyre has a slightly more open tip and a longer facing, giving you more volume, a bigger sound, and greater ease of expression while keeping the pure, focused tone Vandoren is known for. The Profile 88 beak adds a more comfortable feel in the mouth. It's an excellent choice for advancing students and professional players alike.

Why Clarinetists Choose the 5RV Lyre 13 Series

For many clarinetists, the 5RV Lyre hits the sweet spot between control and freedom. Its slightly more open design gives you a fuller, more resonant sound without becoming difficult to manage, while the medium facing keeps your response quick and your articulation clean. Because it's tuned for A=440, it's especially well suited for players in American school bands, community ensembles, and orchestras. If you love the classic 5RV but want a little more room to grow your sound, the 5RV Lyre 13 Series is a natural next step. Pair it with your favorite Vandoren reeds and a quality ligature to complete your setup.
