Vandoren CM4158 Series 13 M13 w/ Profile 88 Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece

Vandoren CM4158 M13 Lyre 13 Series Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece with Profile 88 Beak

The Vandoren M13 Lyre is a top choice for clarinetists who want a rich, centered tone with effortless response. Available only in Vandoren's 13 Series, it's designed for A=440 pitch, the tuning standard used by most American bands and orchestras, so it's easier to play in tune with your ensemble. The M13 Lyre shares many of the qualities of the original M13 but with a slightly more open tip, making it easier to play in the upper register while producing a particularly pure sound. Combined with the comfortable Profile 88 beak, it's an outstanding mouthpiece for advancing students, serious amateurs, and professionals in both symphonic and jazz settings.

Why Clarinetists Choose the M13 Lyre

The M13 Lyre gives you precision and control without sacrificing warmth or color. Its closer tip opening and medium-long facing pair well with medium-hard to hard reeds, giving you a focused, resonant sound and clean articulation. The more open Lyre design makes high notes speak more easily, so you can move through the full range of the clarinet with confidence. Many players also find it a dramatic improvement over the stock mouthpiece that came with their instrument. Pair it with your favorite Vandoren reeds and a quality ligature to complete your setup.
