Vandoren AP3 Profile Series Alto Sax Mouthpiece

Vandoren AP3 Profile Series Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece (SM913)

The Vandoren AP3 is part of Vandoren's Profile Series, a newer line of saxophone mouthpieces developed with leading American and European classical saxophonists. Combining more than a century of Vandoren craftsmanship with modern design technology, the AP3 acts as a natural extension of the air column. That gives you smooth, even airflow and a seamless feel from the lowest notes to the top of the horn. The result is a warm, round sound with great projection, immediate response, and a wide palette of tone colors. It's easy to play and comfortable, making it a great choice for students stepping up from a stock mouthpiece as well as advanced classical players.

Why Saxophonists Choose the AP3

The AP3 makes it easy to get a full, balanced sound with less effort. Its design helps your air flow evenly, so notes speak quickly and the transition between registers feels smooth and natural, from low B-flat all the way up. Players often notice that high and low notes come out more easily than on a stock mouthpiece, even with a lighter air stream. With its warm tone, strong projection, and flexibility, the AP3 is at home in concert band, saxophone ensemble, and solo classical repertoire. Pair it with Vandoren V12 or V21 reeds and a quality ligature to complete your setup.
