Shure SM7B Broadcast and Vocal Microphone

Shure SM7B Vocal Dynamic Microphone

The microphone you’ve heard a thousand times—even if you didn’t know it.

The Shure SM7B has earned its reputation as one of the most trusted microphones in recording. From legendary vocal tracks to today’s podcasts, livestreams, and voiceovers, the SM7B delivers the warm, smooth, natural sound that has made it a studio standard.

At its core, the SM7B is a professional dynamic microphone designed to capture your voice without adding a bunch of unwanted color. Its smooth, wide-range frequency response gives vocals a rich, balanced sound, while excellent shielding helps protect your recording from electromagnetic hum generated by computers, monitors, and other studio equipment.

The built-in air suspension shock isolation helps keep mechanical noise and vibrations out of your recording, while the included windscreen helps tame breath noise and plosives when you’re working up close.

And because it’s a Shure, the SM7B is built like a tank. This is the kind of microphone you buy once and expect to use for years.

Why we like it at Brighton Music Center: There’s a reason you see the SM7B everywhere. It sounds great on a huge range of voices, it’s incredibly well built, and it can handle everything from vocals and voiceover work to podcasting and streaming. Just keep in mind that the SM7B likes plenty of clean gain, so pairing it with the right interface or preamp is important.
